Abstract:
There are many different ways to teach children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Applied
Behavior Analysis (ABA) is one educational tool that has shown to be effective in showing
progress with children of Autism Spectrum. The present study investigated to see whether
there is any effect of ABA therapy on behavior modification of children with autism. A total
of forty ASD children and their mothers were included in the study.Twenty were assigned in
experimental group and the rest were assigned to the control group. Antecedent Behavior
Consequences (ABC) has been used for assessing target Behavior (Eye Contact). Eye Contact
Avoidance Scale (ECAS) has been used to measure eye contact avoiding behavior before and
after intervention. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy has been used for intervention
program. Data has been analyzed by independent sample t-test. Result indicated that there is
an effect of ABA therapy on behavior modification of children with autism. Children of
experimental (intervention group) showed significant improvement in making eye contact
than the children of control group (no intervention).
