Abstract:
The media of Bangladesh is spreading up day by day. The media in Bangladesh has a rich tradition of independence. The media has a very powerful effect on culture, shaping societal structures and operations. Dominant media forms have heavily assisted in constructing gender and generalized norms. In mass media a large numbers of women are doing the job. But it is not in the satisfactory level. The study aimed to analyze the gender perspectives of the mass media people in Bangladesh. Here the study tried to find out, the gender profile in media especially electronic and print media. The gender profile means that the overall situation of gender in mass media. The gender mainstreaming issue in mass media is also important. The researcher wants to find out also this side. Another important issue is the stereotypes of in the public, especially focus on youth perception. The study took theoretical reference of different feminists ‘perspect ive and also various structural, functionalist, and Marxists perspective related with the thesis topic. National and also international literatures have been used in this research project. Various qualitative techniques in-depth interview, case study, FGD etc, had been used for data collection. To interpret an analyze the content interview, case study, FGD etc, was used. The findings suggest that women are engaged in mass media a reasonable number. But they are not treating properly. So the situation has to be improved positively.
